Campaign Structure
Parallel Effects is set-end campaign that utilizes tabletop d&d elements and the Soul Class/Partners mechanic (though referred to differently throughout this campaign and with the permission of the game masters of The Paradise Trials/Paradise Rising). There is not planned to be a continuation of the story after this rp ends, meaning that all character interactions past the final plot post is up to the players and will not be montitored by admin.
While PE shares mechanics with TPT/PR and other similar groups, it is not connected to any of these campaigns and is a stand alone story with its own unique NPCs, characteristics, and story line.

There is expected to be about a maximum of 60 players in the campaign, including any staff that wish to participate, which has been split into seven segments with resting periods in between, and has a prologue and epilogue. Adjustments on the player count may be made in the future depending on the level of interest in the group. While there is a set start date, the timeline of the game will depend on the progress and preference of the players and is likely to change. Though there will be checkpoints to help speed along the story if needed.

Each segment will have a required posting amount of 5 posts and will be about two to three months long. Whereas the resting periods will have no posting requirements and will be used as time for the players to take a break and for the admin to get ready for the next segment. The resting periods will be about three to four months and the prologue and epilogue will be treated differently from the segments and will be of shorter length.

Throughout the game, in order to gain some hints to soul partners and story clues, players will be given an array of various puzzles to dissect and interpret. They will then work together to reveal the information but it will be important to keep any out of character (ooc) information out of all rp interactions - otherwise known as meta-gaming - unless instructed otherwise.

Lastly, a big part of the campaign, but not a requirement, is the Soul Class mechanic which assigns every character to a Soul Class (Primal Source), Soul Shade (Primal Shades), and a Soul Partner or Partners. You may be assigned to either one or two Soul Partners which is determined by many factors of your character. You are not required to have previously had, already have, or make a relationship between your character and their Soul Partner(s). Partners can be strangers, family, friends, or even enemies and you don't have to change anything about the relationship just because they are revealed to be Partners.

But the biggest aspect of this campaign is for everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves and create characters they love and enjoy to explore a new world with them. That is the admin's main goal and we can't wait to see what happens. Good luck players.
