Stats
Just as in any other d&d based rps, PE will use a stat system to help determine the outcomes of character interactions with NPCs and their environments. They also affect what level of their Primal Source your character starts on. Throughout the game players will be given the chance to add stat points as prizes as their character grows in experience.

You are given 30 stat points to begin with and must distribute them among 6 stats:

Strength
This is your character's physical power and is used in circumstances that involve moving a heavy object, lifting another player/NPC/creature, climbing, fighting, etc.

Dexterity
Described as the your character's agility or how well they can stay on their feet. Used in circumstances that involve quick reactions, stealth, balance, slight of hand, etc.

Intelligence
The amount of knowledge your character possesses and can be included in circumstances that require characters to memorize things, planning, understanding objects and their workings, etc.

Charisma
This is the ease, or lack thereof, your character experiences when interacting with others. This is included in circumstances that require players to gain information from NPCs/creatures, manipulate, clam other characters/NPCs, etc.

Wisdom
One's insight in a situation and information learned not from books can be used to identify the presence of something.

Constitution
Known as how well a character can stay alive. Examples of this are ingesting poisons and surviving, being able to withstand strong bouts of cold without receiving too much damage, etc.

Health is not a stat that admin will be keeping track off (excluding possible deaths) and is instead up to a player to determine the severity of an injury or sickness the character obtains unless otherwise directed by an admin.

Players will have until the beginning of the first segment to rearrange the stats as they wish. Once that time has passed, you cannot change the stats other than to add new ones when given the opportunity.

Rolling & Modifiers
Modifiers are used to better accurately reflect your character's abilities during in-game situations. They may either help or hurt the roll's outcome based on your character's stats. Most of the rolling will be done by the admin so that players will not have to worry about it but there may be some instances where the admin requests that the players roll during an event. Player's are also welcome to initiate rolls when the admin would not usually do so during a segment or interims.

Checkpoints
Checkpoints are used to give responses to character actions and to give story line updates. They are given by the GM and admin which will each be assigned to a few teams to monitor and update. The posting of checkpoints will usually be at a set time and date but if it is clear that the story is slowing down then they will become more frequent in order to move the teams further along and the opposite if it appears that not many players are able to keep up with the posting speed. The GM will give a 6 hour and 1 hour warning before a checkpoint is to be dropped, which will lock the team documents to avoid having players edit during the time, and will inform players when they can post again.

Strengths & Weaknesses
Not all abilities can be restricted to the 6 stats so this will allow the admin to know specifically what helps or hinders your character in certain situations. They can be physical such as low strength or excellent at stealthy tasks. Or they can be mental such as terrible directional skills or the ability to read human writing.

Players will need to provide 3 strengths and 3 weakness before the start of the game. Much like stats, they can be changed up until the start of the first segment. After that time you will have to wait until the next interim to adjust them once again.

Character Death
The death of a character is a real thing. It can be caused by a few number of things such as a lack of activity, player removal from the group, etc. Once a character has been killed in-game there is no reviving them and the player will be removed from the member's server. After that it is up to them to decide whether to stay up to date with the campaign's events or not.

The only possibility of a player returning is by them reentering a NEW character into another opening for the group, though acceptance is dependent on the reasoning for the removal of the player the first time. There will be no exceptions to this mechanic as it is to the keep the rp flowing smoothly at the designed pace that is set. There are no hard feelings meant with killing off someone's character so please do not take it personally at all.
Of course an admin will warn you if your character's actions will result in their death.

Dark Magic
One thing that is special to PE is that players are able to decide to either stay with their assigned Primal Source and the powers it offers or to follow a darker path with alternate abilities that has consequences but also special advantages. Players will be given multiple chances to choose to use Dark Magic or to return to using Primal Source magic if they decide that they do not the former option fitting for their character.
Another thing to take note of is that at one point, the offer to use Dark magic will stop which will restrict any players who did not agree to use it from choosing to do so it. But the players who are still using Dark Magic after that point are still able to revert back to Primal magic, however they will be barred from reversing their decision after the designated point.

Soul Rooting
One of the goals of the group is for each player to find their character's Soul Partner. It is not necessarily a requirement to be completed in the game but it is a way to connect the players close together, create dynamics between characters, and to enhance your character's powers.

Hints will be given throughout the course of the campaign for players to dissect and figure out who the clue is referring to. There will be one chance during every interim, at the end, to guess your character's soul partner. If you did not guess the correct answer then there is no harm done and you will simply have to wait until the next interim to guess again.

During the 4th interim, players will privately be revealed their soul shade and will be strictly instructed to not tell anyone what it is. Within interim 5, all soul partners will be revealed and souls shades will also be made public.
